Remember What You Love About Your Business
The first step to having fun with your business is remembering what you love, or at least like, about it in the first place. You dedicate a lot of time and energy to your business, so there’s obviously something driving you! Sit down and make a list of all of the things you enjoy about your business, or what makes you happy about your business. Maybe that’s your mission, a new product you’re excited about, the great energy of your team – whatever it is that gets you up in the morning.
On the flip side, put together a list of the things that you’re not so excited about. That might be things like managing payroll, staying on top of daily social media posts, or trying to keep up with an overflowing inbox. We all have tasks we don’t love to do, but that shouldn’t be a focus of your day when there are so many aspects about your business you’re passionate about!
Delegate Your Least Favorite Tasks
Once you’ve identified what you enjoy doing, make more time for those tasks by delegating the less favorable ones. If you don’t have someone within the business who can handle those things, consider turning to outside help.

Bring Your Outside Interests to Work
One of the greatest ways to bring fun into the office is to allow you and your team the space to bring their full selves to work. Think about creating some events for your team centered around shared interests: a day where they can dress up as their favorite superhero, an evening out at the local bowling alley, or a friendly office pool before the Super Bowl or Golden Globes. Not only is it fun to cut loose a bit in your workplace, but getting to know more about the people you’re working with creates a sense of camaraderie and makes for a more engaged team.

Of course, the goal of any business is to make money and sell the products or services you offer. But when you start to lose sight of the why behind what you do, your work can start to feel like soulless selling.
To flip that script, think about how what you’re selling is designed to improve your customers’ lives. You started this business because you’re passionate about the industry and believe you’re offering the best solution. This is how you should be framing everything you do for the business.
