Every business owner takes a different approach to mapping out their goals, finalizing their marketing plan, and checking off their to-do list on the way to building a business. Obstacles can sometimes be unpredictable, and hearing a few words of inspiration could be just the spark you need to get back on the right track. No need to search Pinterest for relatable business quotes!

We talked to the experts, and here’s what they had to say:

"Know your values, have a purpose, and love your customers."

Simple enough, right? It can be easy to become so caught up in your business that you lose sight of why you started.

Julian Placino, Senior Recruiting Lead at Bottle Rocket, has 11 years of experience in agency and corporate staffing and is also the Creator of the Pathways to Success Podcast on iTunes where he conducts interviews with world class performers to discover their mindsets, tactics, and behaviors. Expect to hear more insights and stories from Julian on The Growth Lab Show!

"The more specific your plan, and backup plan, the better your chances are for success. Remember, everything you do from today to 12/21/19 should lead you to that end-of-year goal. If something doesn't get you closer to it, just say 'No!'"

A goal without a plan is simply a dream! Keep a sticky note on your desk of your detailed, business goal to make sure your tasks align with that. It’s always nice to be reminded of the purpose behind what you’re doing and how you’re going to get there.

Brian Moran, CEO at Small Business Ege, helps entrepreneurs run better businesses and reach their objectives. He is the Creator of The Small Business Edge Podcast on iTunes, and talked with Tracy and Andre on episode 3 of The Growth Lab Show all about how to keep your business goals in line.

"If indeed there is an economic slowdown, then businesses that have already begun to figure out how to deliver a great customer experience will thrive while those businesses that relied only on a good economy to propel their business will be challenged."

With so many aspects of your business to focus on, your priority should be customer experience. Consumers want to see that brands care and have their best interest in mind.

Neal Polachek is a renowned local business growth expert and former CEO of The Kelsey Group and President of BIA Kelsey. Neal has been advising SMBs on how to keep up with consumers for decades. To hear more of Neal’s thoughts, follow him on Twitter!

"When in doubt, take a walk outside and clear your head. Inevitably, when you can separate yourself from the work, you can remember all the wonderful reasons why you chose to do what you do!"

Sometimes taking a break from your work space is exactly what you need to get right back in the zone and do it even better. Clearing your head is okay, so let yourself do it!

Jess Tyson is the Director of Calm at Don’t Panic Management and author of Panic Proof: How the right Virtual Assistant Can Save Your Sanity and Grow Your Business. Jess sat down with Tracy and Andre on episode 2 of The Growth Lab Show to share her expertise on how to audit your time.

"Customers with resources tend to give opportunities to companies they trust. Companies earn that trust with better than expected service, complete transparency, and being brilliant at the basics."

Create a trustworthy relationship with your customers and consumers will know you for your reputation! When it comes to your business to consumer relationship, it doesn’t have to be complicated. Be transparent, offer excellent service, and be brilliant at the basics.

Peter Shankman, five-time best-selling author, entrepreneur and corporate keynote speaker, is recognized for his radically new ways of thinking about the customer experience. Follow Peter on Twitter to hear more of his thoughts!

"Don't be afraid to test new ideas, customization techniques, and creative concepts, because at best, you break new ground in your industry. At worst, you have fantastic data that will help you create incredible new things in the future."

Moving forward with a new idea for your business is scary, especially if you’ve never seen it done before. But growing means making changes and keeping up with innovations, gaining customers, and staying relevant require testing new ideas and creating new concepts. Next time you hesitate to test a new idea, remember the worst that could happen is you will be THAT much closer to getting to where you want to be!

Hillary Weiss, the creator and teacher of The Statement Piece Framework, The Workshops copywriting course, has helped over one thousand brands find their voice and become successful through content that speaks their language.

"Focus on the customer... always the customer... and you'll never go wrong!"

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Andre Archimbaud! When it comes down to it, your business is all about the customer. Focus on the customer experience and you can never go wrong. Check out the Q&A with Andre to learn more about how he came to host The Growth Lab Show podcast!
